"Janet Jackson is a star it's no question but we're a little tired of those "Thriller" dancing routines. And all that other stuff she got going on there's a new generation out here and she only did a handful of features with her brother, Busta, me. I mean she doesn't really do 'em, but she's getting old so it's now it's…you ain’t in competition with me—give back. I mean that was an opportunity where she could of introduced me, she was on Tyra she was on all those other shows. I didn't really need that and I don't do features so I'm not going to say, "Janet I needed you." But, you called me to do the song, you know I'm an independent female you know I'm a black woman. You already know how much they give us hell, you aint even recovered from the t-shirt malfunction, you'll never be where Mariah is at right now because you're Janet—that's the same thing I go through."

A love triangle turns violent. Two twenty-something women fighting over the same guy. One pulls out a gun and starts shooting. But in this case the guy the women were fighting over is barely old enough to get a driver's permit.
The shooting happened the day after Valentine's Day at the Cypress Garden Apartments.
"We're starting to get cases on women just like anything else," said Lt. Nathan Berryman with the Memphis Police Dept. "It's not male exclusive crime anymore."
Police say 20-year-old Cherry Wright tried to kill her boyfriend's ex during a drive-by shooting. According to the report, she rolled up to 23-year-old Lakeviette Smith's apartment, pointed a gun out the window and started firing at her.The guy they're fighting over was behind the wheel. He's only 15 years old.
"He could be 15, he could be 20. You have conflict between people that doesn't de-escalate. It just keeps going and going," said Lt. Berryman.
And it doesn't end there. Fortunately Smith wasn't hit, but police say with all the gunfire Wright accidentally shot her teenage boyfriend in the neck.
He's charged with helping her gun down his ex, who also happens to be pregnant with his child. [source]

A woman accused of leaving eight children with little food and no money while she traveled to Africa to marry a man she met on the Internet has been arrested.
Shanell Monique Mosley, 33, was met by authorities as she got off an Air France jet Monday at George Bush Intercontinental Airport, Harris County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. David Crain said Tuesday, January 29, 2008.
Charged with child endangerment and child abandonment for leaving the children in squalid conditions, Mosley was expected to have an attorney appointed for her at a Wednesday court appearance.
After the children were discovered alone in the home in early January, officials learned Mosley went to Nigeria to marry an Internet acquaintance.
When she left for Nigeria on December 31, Mosley told her 15 year-old daughter she would return in a month, child welfare officials said.
Prosecutor John Jordan said Mosley's six children, now in foster homes, were starving and her older children couldn't recall their own birth dates.
Mosley's children are ages 1, 7, 8, 9, 15 and 16, Jordan said. The other two children found in the home were 3 and 4 year-olds the family cared for on behalf of a single father who worked, Jordan said. [SOURCE]

Rappers Bizzy Bone and DMX will team up later this month to shoot a video for Bizzy Bone’s latest single "A Song for You."
According to director Ethan Lader, the video for the song will be shot January 21 in Phoenix, Arizona, where they will turn a cemetery into a video set.
"The passion, the power, the pain will be brought to life through this video," Lader told AllHipHop.com in a statement. "It’s about vibe, mood, and imagery. We will journey with Bizzy Bone as he travels through a prolific cemetery; a cemetery that has all the fallen soldiers of our Hip-Hop community buried together, united together. The vibe throughout is one of hope and strength."
"A Song for You" is an interpolation of Donny Hathaway’s 1971 classic composition "A Song for You." [source]

Authorities have charged two women and a man with a weekend attack on three North Carolina football players, which police said was motivated by robbery and included the sexual assault of at least two players.
Police said the players were attacked early Sunday at their off-campus apartment. All three were bound with tape, and one of those charged threatened the players with a knife. None of the players required medical attention, police said.
Authorities charged Monique Jenice Taylor, 28, Tnika Monta Washington, 29, and Michael Troy Lewis, 32, with three counts of kidnapping, three counts of conspiracy to commit a felony and one count of resisting arrest.
Taylor and Washington also are charged with one count of first-degree sexual offense. Lewis is also charged with robbery, possession of stolen goods and assault on government officials.
Glenn Gerding, an attorney for Taylor, said he didn't want to discuss details of the case outside of court.
"I'm sure once everything comes out in court, we'll be able to establish her innocence," Gerding told The Associated Press.
Prosecutors said the players and the accused went to the victims' apartment after meeting at a downtown bar. [continue]

"As recent observers have noted of Stone's failed comeback, needing to pee is code for drugs," wrote Friedman. "And when that happens, the show is over. As he did when I saw him on Nov. 20 at BB Kings, Stone left the stage and did not return for some time. When he did, he was clearly in a changed mental state and, yes, sleepy."
The 40-minute show started an hour late, Friedman noted. Sly, on keyboards, "led the audience through a medley of one-line snippets of hits sung first on an altering voice box and then in a whisper," he writes. Wearing a white hooded track suit and sunglasses, Stone got through five of the "loosely constructed" songs before heading to the bathroom.
He returned to perform "If You Want Me to Stay" and, ironically, started singing "I Want to Take You Higher" before wandering off stage for good, according to Friedman.
"The sold-out, standing-room-only audience was not happy," wrote Friedman. "One fan grabbed a mike and shouted, 'You crack addict. Get back on stage. I paid $100 dollars for this ticket.' It was a sad moment." [source]
