"...For us, living and learning each other and just taking all the years to become who we really needed to be--and yes, having children prior to getting married--I think we never had the fear of it. So it never came up in a negative way because, at any given point, we could look at each other and decide that's what we want to do. No one could stop that from happening tomorrow morning because there's no fear of it. I think for some people, there's a big fear of marriage, and I think also, people have seen so many marriages not work and they allow that to affect their decision. In our case, it was none of those. For us, when we had Rodney, it came up a lot within our own home, but like other things, it just stayed there."
