Costly Mistake
A Maryland judge ordered Rev. DMX to pay over $1.5 million on Friday after
failing to show up in court on a defamation case.
DMX told Sister 2 Sister magazine that Monique Wayne sexually assaulted him during a one-night stand in 2003, leading to her pregnancy. "She raped me," DMX claimed. "DNA says it is (my child). I don’t know. If I did (have sex with her) I would remember. It ain’t like she’s a pretty girl." [I'm not taking the bait! It would be too easy to get on Tashera. Wayne’s mother, sister and a psychologist testified on her behalf, claiming that X’s allegations were false and slanderous.
Earl will have to fork over $518,400 in compensatory damages and $1 million in punitive penalties.
