Omarion at the nominations announcement today. Work it bitch!
But let's be honest here, do you really care? Do you even watch Soul Train? Better yet, are the artists who were nominated going to actually show up? It's been a couple of months since Soul Train bothered to tape an episode. They've been in full throwback mode, airing shows from the 70's since before James Brown went to play craps in that pool hall in the sky.
The 21st Anniversary Soul Train Music Awards will be co-hosted by R&B singers LeToya and Omarion. I'm not going to touch that one. Ms. Peachez has been tapped to host the official post party at Roscoe's Chicken And Waffles. The event will be sponsored by Murray's Superior Pomade.
Beyonce gathered a leading three nominations, including one for best female album for "B'Day." Mary J. Blige garnered two nominations, for best female R&B soul-single for "Take Me As I Am," and for best female R&B soul album for "The Breakthrough." On the male side, John Legend, Chris Brown, Ne-Yo and Yung Joc each got two nominations.
